Culinary boutiques like luxury jeweller’s
It is always a pleasure to scour the shops in search of the treasures of our fine cuisine. Any time of the year is good to do so as there is always plenty of variety and colour, depending on the season. ()

Our country is therefore a stage for high quality culinary stores of solid prestige. Some offer a wide range of products whilst others lean towards a clear specialisation: there are gourmet stores that are turned into real markets of the highest quality, with display cabinets and shelves filled with the finest products. Others focus on a specific type of product. Magnificent fish shops, well-stocked butcher’s shops, stores specialised in preserves and pâté, ready-cooked food outlets, confectioner’s, fruit shops, cheese shops, establishments based on the theme of Extra Virgin olive oil, wine cellars or cake and pastry bakeries… In Spain, there are food boutiques for all tastes. We must not forget those located in the city neighbourhoods and the traditional markets or large shopping centres. All together, they turn Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville or San Sebastian into leading gastronomy capitals of Europe and the world. In fact, the quality of these stores has gradually bridged the gap with the international trend-setting centres like London, Paris or New York. Madrid and Barcelona are now on that list.
